Brine gets saltier every half hour it sits in the sun. Its colour shows its grade: blue sea water (4), green, pink, then white crystal. The number on each pond is its grade.
Each harvest bed wants a volume of brine within a grade band, before its crew's window closes: Flake 14-18, Coarse 18-22, Fleur de sel 22-26. Beds hold what they are given; the crew rakes the moment the bed is full enough and true.
Tap a sluice gate and paint the half hours it stands open on the strip. Gates run downhill only. A pump slot lifts brine a terrace up: a hand pump on the hours you paint, or a windmill that turns whenever the wind is over its line. Tap a pond or bed to cover it through rain (covers stop the sun too). A plank splits a pan in two.
The strip at the top is the day: sun, rain, wind, tide (the sea reaches the intake only above its sill) and each crew's window. Drag it to preview any moment; press Run to watch the day.
Score = 4 per gate opening, 8 per pump shift, 12 per windmill, 3 per cover or plank, plus a point for each grade off the centre of a band. Lower is better: clear for bronze, then silver and gold. Ghost shows your best plan. Hint sets one working action.
