How to play

You ride the cargo bike for the saltmarsh post. Drop a parcel at every glowing door, in any order, as fast as you can.

The tide rises and falls on the clock at the top. Low ground floods first: shallow water slows you, wading water slows you a lot, and deep water blocks the way. If the water closes over you, you are swamped and lose time.
Mud is slow when dry. Roads are steady, boardwalks are fast, and bridges never flood.
Currents in flooded creeks push you along. Pontoons ferry you across channels: wait at the jetty, ride in the middle.
Pedal hard for a burst of speed until your legs tire.
Beat the par time for gold. Your best run is saved and races beside you as a ghost.

Keyboard: arrows or WASD to ride, Shift or Space to pedal hard, R restart, P or Esc pause, G ghost. Gamepad: stick to ride, A pedal, Y restart, Start pause. Touch: drag anywhere on the left to steer, hold PEDAL.

Saltmarsh Courier is an original game. Design, the twelve delivery rounds, code, art and music were made by the build agent for this studio.

All art is painted in code on a canvas. All music and sound is synthesized live in the browser. No libraries, no image or audio files, no network requests.
